“Hadsel” marks Beirut’s first full-length album since 2019’s “Gallipoli” and also the debut release on Zach Condon’s Pompeii Records. Recorded on the Norwegian island of Hadsel following a period of personal turmoil and reflection, Condon sought solace and recovery amidst the island’s stunning natural beauty. 

Working in isolation, he found inspiration in the landscapes, from the awe-inspiring northern lights to the rugged mountains and fjords. This immersive experience shaped the album’s introspective and resilient tone, capturing Condon’s journey through vulnerability to self-determination. The resulting collection of songs beautifully embodies his emotional journey, reflecting themes of recovery and self-discovery.
