Led Zeppelin – Led Zeppelin LP Vinyl Record
Digitally re-mastered edition of the Hard Rock quartet’s 1969 self-titled debut album. Led Zeppelin were one of the most innovative and successful groups in modern music. Barely two months after the first rehearsal, the band was ready to record their debut. That record hit like a bomb or, if you prefer, an exploding hot air balloon. The sound was heavy, loud and impressive, but at the same time the versatility of Led Zeppelin (later wrongly often portrayed as a blunt rock giant) still stands out.
The dynamics, the swinging bluesy riffs, the tension: Dazed And Confused and How Many More Times have it all. On the debut it is already there: the driving, often screeching guitar sound of Page, the high, voluptuous vocals of Plant, the thumping drums of Bonham and Jones that glue it all together. Maybe their best record. But you could also say that about all their albums …

Staff Review:
Led Zeppelin’s self titled debut album represents a definitive moment in rock music. Released in 1969, the album incorporated an impressive variety of sound to create something passionate, confident and sonically rich. Sounding established from the outset, Led Zeppelin’s musicianship is something to behold. Each musician’s influences are clear, however, it’s the blend of these sounds that offers something new and exciting. Though the music is very reminiscent of the year of its release, it remains timeless.
Part of what has made “Led Zeppelin” so iconic are the bands influences. The album features a dynamic and seamless blend of blues, hard and folk rock that, through the exploration of various tempos and song structures, offers a refreshing and exciting sound. Each musician plays with brilliant talent, power and passion, Page’s vocals howl while his rhythm guitar powers alongside pounding percussion, soaring lead guitar riffs and driving basslines.
Though the songs themselves might not feature the same musical complexity that other bands had to offer, Led Zeppelin’s music is more about the ambition and passion. Most of their songs sound like dynamic improvisations rather than long, thought out compositions. Coupled with the band’s brilliantly energetic chemistry, every track delivers an emotive, genre-bending experience both on the stage and in the studio. Never missing a beat, Led Zeppelin achieved a truely distinct sound right from their debut record, the songs are as catchy as they are creative and they never sound mundane.
An album that introduced many to blues and hard rock, Led Zeppelin’s self-titled debut features some of those genre’s most revered songs. Whether it’s the musicianship, the ambitious nature, the brilliant songwriting, talented lyricism or something else, there’s a lot to be loved on Led Zeppelin’s stellar debut.
