After being approached by Warner Music about creating a greatest hits album, the legendary English rock band decided to flip that request on its head. Instead, they began working on an album that revisited previous sounds from their career to create brand new songs. These songs can now be heard through their ninth studio album Will Of The People.

Lyrically, frontman Matt Bellamy was inspired by the increasing uncertainty and instability in the world, as the natural world is threatened by the Western empire. Will of the People is personal navigation through those fears.
