Reuniting with Eggers after their critically acclaimed work on The Northman, Robin Carolan has composed a score that is as gothic, haunting, and rich in atmosphere as the film itself. Performed by an orchestra of 60 string players, woodwinds, horns, a harpist, choir, and percussionists, the soundtrack was conducted under the guidance of rising classical star Daniel Pioro and captures the tragic romance and creeping dread at the heart of the Nosferatu legend.

Carolan’s inspiration pulls from an eclectic palette: the tension of Bartók, the ambience of Coil, the psychological unease of The Innocents and Eyes Wide Shut, and the mystical folk tones of obscure Eastern European film scores. The result is a sonic tapestry that elevates Nosferatu beyond traditional horror and into something much more mythic and timeless.

Robin Carolan is a British composer and producer known for his experimental project Tri Angle, as well as his innovative film score work. His style blends classical technique with electronic minimalism and avant-garde soundscapes—perfectly suited for the surreal world of Eggers’ filmmaking.
