In a post-apocalyptic world, Regan Abbotts and her family learn that alien predators can be defeated using high-frequency audio. Armed with this knowledge, they then set out to look for other survivors.

Returning to score the second film is Marco Beltrami, who creates a similarly terrifying yet beautiful soundscape for the nightmarish experiences of the Abbotts. Beltrami elects to retain the same themes and material from the first film, using it as a device to remind listeners of that world while new music comes in to extend that.
