J.R.R. Tolkien’s 1954 epic story, The Lord of the Rings, was an astonishing creative work of high fantasy that pioneered the genre. The story followed Frodo Baggins and the Fellowship of the Ring on their perilous journey to destroy the One Ring and end the Dark Lord Sauron’s quest for domination over Middle-Earth.

Sculpted by Australian artist Graeme Anthony, this fantastic pewter chess set shows Aragorn and Galadriel leading their band of Ents, Wizards and Hobbits to battle against Sauron and Shelob’s horde of Saruman, Gollum, Dragons and Orcs. The pieces have been cast in pewter with copper plating to distinguish the opposing armies, and the chessboard is made of wood and pewter marquetry.
