Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Angelo Badalamenti 2xLP Vinyl Record (Cherry Pie Coloured Vinyl)
“‘Life is full of mysteries, Donna.
Right from the brooding opening bars of the main “Fire Walk With Me Theme,” Angelo Badalamenti’s gorgeous, eerie score introduces us to a cinematic experience which significantly begins with the smashing of a television screen. Just as the “Main Title” from “Blue Velvet” echoed the Hitchcockian hues of Bernard Herrmann, so here we have just the slightest touch of Taxi Driver, as Jim Hynes’ plaintive, keening trumpet soars above a landscape of melancholy keyboards, drawing us into a world which is at once alien and familiar.
“Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me” (released initially as “Twin Peaks: The Movie”) is often viewed as the both the epilogue to the 1990 series and the prologue to the 2017 series. The 1992 American psychological thriller film is directed by David Lynch and written by Lynch and Robert Engels. The iconic film revolves around the investigation into the murder of Teresa Banks (Pamela Gidley) and the last seven days in the life of Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee), a popular high school student in the fictional Washington town of Twin Peaks, of which these two connected murders were the central mysteries of the television series.
