Following the political fury of Cave World, the Stockholm-based post-punk disruptors take a more introspective (but no less chaotic) turn, embracing what frontman Sebastian Murphy calls a “simple and stupid” approach.

True to form, this album skewers the absurdities of daily existence with savage wit and absurd charm. From twisted vet visits, wellness paranoia to capitalist critiques, Murphy’s lyrical digressions are both punchy and profound. 

Standout ballad Medicine for Horses captures the album’s emotional core, where love briefly tempers the madness: “Kiss my wife, tell her I love her,” he croons, before veering off into meditations on the great plains of North America.

Musically, viagr aboys pushes boundaries—jazz-punk breakdowns, filthy basslines, spaced-out synths, and cathartic punk riffs—showcasing the band’s evolution while remaining joyfully unhinged.
