William Crighton – William Crighton LP Vinyl Record
Step into the red dirt and eucalyptus haze—William Crighton is a haunting and deeply grounded debut from one of Australia’s most powerful new voices in folk-rock. Born in Dubbo and raised across the Riverina region of New South Wales, William Crighton cut his teeth playing live shows from the age of 14.
His self-titled debut is steeped in the sounds and spirit of the Australian landscape—songs shaped by long drives, old hymns, and a fierce love for country and culture. From bushland ballads to gritty, full-bodied rock, this record is a raw expression of life on the land. Recorded in a weathered house by Burrinjuck Dam, William Crighton captures a mix of poetic storytelling and primal energy.
Crighton’s thunderous voice is joined by his wife Jules on harmonies and his brother Luke on bass, with production by Matt Sherrod (Crowded House). Tracks like “2000 Clicks” and “Riverina Kid” feel like ghost stories carried on desert winds, while “Jesus Blues” and “Priest” bring out the darker corners of faith and longing.
